Christmas has great significance
to the present-day Christian
community.
Christmas at Moore's Chapel is a special time when we celebrate
the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our church family is drawn closer
together as the Holy Spirit and the Love of God fills our hearts.
Our special events include our Christmas
Candlelight Service. Performed for over 54 years, this event has
become a community tradition. If you don't get there early, you may find
yourself without a seat.
During the Hanging of the Greens
Service, we
learn of the Christian Christmas traditions as we decorate the church with beautiful wreaths and poinsettias that
are given in memory of loved ones that have gone on to meet the Lord.
Christmas caroling and visiting Calvert Manor Nursing Home helps us to
spread the joy of Christmas to our
community.
For
the children, we have a
birthday party for Jesus.
Saint Nicholas arrives to visit with the young and the "young at
heart".
We sincerely hope that you and your family will share the Joy of Christmas
with our church family in 2006.
