Alpha is a once a week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for our lives today. It is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity with loads of opportunity for debate and discussion.

The style of Alpha is informal, friendly, and non-pressured. Alpha is enjoyed and appreciated as much by those that have never set foot in a church, as it is by those who once attended, and by the regular churchgoer. No matter what your background; whether investigating Christianity for the first time or revisiting your faith, participants get a lot out of an Alpha Course.

The last Alpha program came to a close on April 27th, 2003.  After spending every Sunday evening together for the previous several months, Sunday evenings seemed to be missing something.  Old friendships were strengthened and new bonds were formed as we fellowshipped together over dinner, studied and learned together,  and shared our personal questions and struggles in our small groups.

By far, the most important relationship that was strengthened was our relationship with Jesus Christ.  As the weeks progresses and God's Word became real to us, lives were being changed!  Here are just a few of the testimonials from some of the participants.  As you read them it will be obvious that God was in our midst during the Alpha program at Moore's Chapel.

Christine Spencer writes: "I truly enjoyed the Alpha program and would highly recommend  it to anyone interested in learning more about Jesus, Christianity, the Holy Spirit, and developing a more personal relationship with God.  It was a great way to bond with other members of our church as well as people in our community who are seeking answers to their questions.  The fellowship was entertaining, the talks were interesting,  and the Q & A discussion times were thought provoking.  overall, it was an awesome experience."

Trixie Waddell tells us:  "Alpha was thoroughly enjoyable, both as being a different way to learn and the outstanding fellowship it created.  Trying to describe what I learned through Alpha isn't easy, it just has to be experienced to totally understand."

When asked what Alpha meant to here, Theresa Beeg shares:  " My salvation.  I had no relationship with God and actually I thought I wasn't missing anything.  I was, however, interested and committed to attending Alpha to learn more about what Christians believe.  By the 5th week I began to realize and feel the presence of God.  During Alpha March 2, 2003, I was filled with a wonderful feeling that words cannot describe (which I now know to be the Holy Spirit) and the knowledge that God had entered into my heart.  I now submit to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  He lives in me as I live for Him.  'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come!' (2 Corinthians 5:17)  I will testify to that!  It is my prayer that everyone will find the peace and joy that his love brings."

Bill Rogers shares:  "The Alpha course confirmed that Jesus is Lord to me.  He is all that the scripture says He is, The Son of God.  I do love Him and I am in awe that God would put his Son on earth to teach us and then die for my sins.  Bu he arose and walked among us and that confirms to me that He is God and worthy of my worship as King.  Jesus is the bridge that leads us to God the creator.  I am blessed to have Betty and the God loving friends at Moore's Chapel that helped me find my way back to the Lord Jesus."

Ken and Cooky Howett comment on Alpha:  "The Alpha course was most enjoyable, from the good food to the topics that were thought provoking and spiritually motivating.  Jack's presentations were very informative, leading to challenging discussions in our diversified, fun group led by Phyllis Scott.  Our faith was renewed and strengthened by participating in the study."
