Fairview - Blake - Kansas School

Fairview School, Blake School, Kansas School - 1871 photoThis photo of the Fairview School (and students) dates prior to 1871.  Also known as the Blake or Kansas School, the second floor was used to hold worship services prior to the building of the church.  Around the end of the World War I, it was remodeled into a one story building and continued to serve as the Blake School until it was purchased by Miss Sally Alexander after World War II.  It then became the Blake Community House and was used by the church for Sunday School and as a banquet hall until the renovation of Moore's Chapel in the 1980's.  The building was then converted into the home located just east of the church.
