A Very Special Historic Gift

This piece of history was a true "gift".  While waiting alone in the church for a meeting (which had been cancelled, but I was unaware), I was drawn to the glass display case that houses some of our historical items.  I was becoming a little desperate for some quick web content and I thought I might get something to add to our history pages.  I located a journal of women's meetings from 1891 and I thought I had found my "treasure".  But I felt compelled to look further.  Inside a 1928 hymnal, I found two folded up copies of The Moore's Messenger from 1983.  What is special about these issues is that they were written at a time in the church's history when Moore's Chapel was contemplating and planning for a new addition.  Twenty-one years later, we are in the exact same situation.

It has been said we must learn from our history, in order to move forward into the future.  Of special interest in this piece of our history is the message from Pastor Mark Palmer that is found in "From The Pastor's Study".  He reminds us, "It is not the growth that we have in mind..... but the growth God has in mind".

Much of the content and development of this web site has been through similar "gifts", but that is another story.  I hope that you enjoy and dwell on this one.
