Administrative Council

Since February 2003, the Administrative Council has been involved with many new projects for both the congregation and the community. Focus groups have been meeting frequently to identify community and church needs and after praying about how our church can serve God and our neighbors, members of the Administrative Council volunteered to serve on various committees dedicated to Youth and Sunday School Programs, after school programs, sanctuary and property improvements, day care, administrative responsibilities, and senior citizen programs. Although not all programs are up and running, several have already been implemented. The minister's office has been furnished and plans are in the works for raising and redecorating the sanctuary. A before and after day care program is also up and running and an after school program for middle school students will begin in November. Additionally, the senior program sponsored a well-attended picnic on September 5. Finally, preliminary discussions are underway to build a multi-purpose center, which will include a gymnasium, offices, and much needed classrooms.

Much has been accomplished in the past six months and I am thankful for God's involvement in our vision for our church. As we continue to grow in the 21st century, I want to thank the members of the Administrative Council for all their efforts and prayers as well as the congregation for supporting the community with prayers and financial aid. I would ask that anyone with a vision for our growth submit their ideas to the Administrative Council. As 2004 approaches, people will be ending their terms on church committees. If God is leading you to serve on any committee, please let Jack or a member of the Lay Leadership committee be aware of your willingness to serve.
