Homecoming at Moore's Chapel
 

Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate Homecoming and the church's 132nd anniversary on Sunday, October 26 at 10: 00 a. m. A play portraying the founding of the church, written and first presented on the 100th anniversary of the church in 1971, will be performed by the Moore's Chapel youth under the direction of Dean Waddell and Doris( Cooky) Howett. Ken Steward, a dramatist of early Methodism, will be a special guest. A special arrangement of "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", a song written in the late 1800s, the time period of the drama, will be performed by the Moore's Chapel Choir.

A luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. The public is invited.

Christmas Candlelight Service

The 52nd annual Christmas Candlelight Service will be held on Sunday, December 21 at 7: 30 PM. "Hurry on Down to Bethlehem" the story of "that night in Bethlehem" will be presented in tableau, music and readings, followed by the traditional candle lighting ceremony.

A time for refreshments and fellowship will follow the service. An offering, collected at the door, will support the Community Christian Mission (CCM) Fund, a local church-administered fund to assist those in need from our community.
