October is Pastor Appreciation Month

How many of us, in this busy world we live in, still take the time to thank a stranger for holding a door? We write thank you cards for gifts. We even thank the toll taker for taking OUR money! But, when was the last time we thanked our pastor for leading, guiding and helping to shape our walk with God?

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Let's take the time to thank Jack Cohen for the many things he does for us. Thank him for the house call he made to visit a shut-in. Thank him for the many prayers, sometimes before we've even asked. Thank him for the time he spends with our church family while his earthly family is at home. Thank him for answering a question, telling a joke, or speaking directly to your heart on Sunday morning. Thank him for knowing when you're having a bad day and for celebrating the good days with you. Thank him most of all for committing his life to sharing the love of our Savior with each and every person who walks into our presence each week.

The next time you're driving to church or picking up the phone to call Jack Cohen, take a moment first to think of one thing to thank him for and let that be the first thing you tell him. He knows that he was called by God to do His work, but does he know that we appreciate it?
P. S. It won't hurt to thank Melissa for supporting him, either!
