Moore's Chapel Senior Fellowship Picnic

The senior fellowship picnic was held on Friday, Sept. 5th at Walnut Springs Farm. It was a beautiful, although windy day. The group went on a hayride and a tour of the farm guided by Jen Arter. They were then treated to a picnic lunch of peach-glazed pork (yum!), baked beans, fruit & pasta salads, cole slaw and baked goods. A discussion followed about how to go about organizing a monthly get-together. Several people volunteered to help keep the fun going. If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the Senior Fellowship or if you have any activity ideas, please contact Doug Johnson , Linda Seward , Sharon Wuori, or Christine Spencer.

The next event will be a Senior's Fellowship Breakfast, Friday, October 3rd at 9: 00 a. m. at Moore's Chapel. We look forward to seeing more faces at the upcoming events!

Moore's Chapel UMC Annual Church Picnic

The Moore's Chapel annual church picnic was held at Cherry Grove Christmas Tree Farm on August 24, 2003. We could not have hand-picked a more beautiful day! The sun was out, a breeze was blowing; what a great day to be outdoors worshipping our Creator. The Praise team led us in a few songs, then Jack stepped out in faith and into a boat on the lake to preach. After his thought-provoking message, Bill and Betty Rogers served communion. A very touching part of the day was the baptisms of four members of our congregation: Theresa Beeg, Michael Lewis, and Ian & Jared Edmundson.

Following the baptisms, everyone enjoyed an abundance of food and fellowship. Doug Johnson gave boat rides to the young and the not-so-young. Many people took advantage of the great weather and fished in the lake, while others played volleyball. Most people took the opportunity to catch up with friends, old and new, and celebrate the reason we all come together: Jesus!

Thank you to the Montgomerys for opening their farm and hearts to us. A good time was had by all. We are already looking forward to next year.
