Camp Pecometh
Camp Pecometh is a Christian camp and retreat
center owned and operated by the
Peninsula-Delaware Conference of the United Methodist Church. It
is located in Queen Anne's County, Maryland along
the Chester River. The camp is accredited by the American Camping Association and has been
operated since 1946. Many Moore's Chapel members
have participated in the camp programs over the years.
The theme for Pecometh's 2004 summer camps is "Spiritlife". This curriculum explores the Holy Spirit
as an active presence in the lives of campers.
Multiple biblical passages explore the daily themes of:
We're gifted, We're forgiven, We're loved, We're
gathered and We're sent. Campers will recognize the work
of the Spirit in their lives as they learn about living
in community.
The majority of camp sessions are five days in
length from Sunday to Friday. Sessions are available for
children who have finished 3rd grade through
12th grade and include programs such as Riverside, Crabbing
and Aquatics, Sports, Music/Drama, Splashdown and much more.
Brochures and registration are available on-line
at www.pecometh.org or by calling 410-556-6900.
There will be an open house on the weekend of April
23-25, 2004 where campers and parents are invited to
tour the camp.
Financial assistance is available for Moore's
Chapel campers. If you have any questions about the
camp etc. please see Jack Cohen, Chris King or
Molly Brumbley.
Previous attendees include: Holly Osborne,
Jeremy Heil, Nicole Brumbley and Scott King. The older youth attending
were: Mallory, Chelsea and
Shelby Underwood, Becky King, April LeMaire and others . All would have
helpful information.
