(The following email was received by Steve, a
Reformed Presbyterian friend. Steve "re-worked" it to make
it more scriptural and sent it to me. I think that it is wonderful
that someone from another denomination has taken the time to provide us with
great material. But I really shouldn't be surprised - - we worship
the same God ! )
1- Give God what's right---not what's left. (That's why we go to church even when we don't feel like it)2- Man's way leads to a hopeless end---God's way leads to an endless hope. (Then why do we do what WE want and not do what we know God wants?)3- He who kneels before God can stand before anyone. (Being righteous in the Lord, you are called to fear no one and to love all) 4- Don't put a question mark where God puts a period. (So why DO we question what His Word says ?) 5- Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a face-lift. (Then why don't we?) (Please see #1) 6- When praying, don't give God instructions, just report for duty. (After you confess your sin for the day, ask him to speak to your heart, listen for that still small voice then communicate with Him about ALL things. Yes, even your wants and desires.) 7- Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church. (Yup I agree) 8- We don't change God's message---His message changes us. (His Word will not return void - Amen) 9- When God ordains, he sustains. Yes, He promises to equip us for all we are asked to do. (See #22) 10- Warning: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning. (Yes, but the Hope is that acceptance of the Son of God as YOUR lord WILL usher you into heaven and change your life here on earth forever) 11- If you are a believer in Jesus Christ you are not a volunteer, you are a conscripted soldier in God's army. (It never was your decision, he chose you from before time began) 12- Plan ahead-- It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark. (cute but true) 13- Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position. (Yup sometimes I do too.) 14- Suffering from truth decay? Brush up on your bible. (The WHOLE truth nothing but the truth ,whether we like it or not) 15- Exercise daily---walk with the Lord (Walk in the Spirit not the flesh, this is helped greatly by praying about ALL things throughout your day) 16- Never give the devil a ride---he will always want to drive. (Don't even crack open the door to evil you will NOT be able to shut it) See #21 17- Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it. (To stretch the truth is to lie, even a little "white lie" IS A LIE) 18- Compassion is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back. (You can never out give God) 19- He who angers you controls you. (Except for righteous anger, which is anger against anything that is contrary to Gods word. But don't forget about Grace and that log still stuck in your own eye) 20- Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop. (God says worrying will not add even 1 day to your life) 21- Give Satan an inch and he'll be a ruler. 22- God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. 23- All roads do Not lead to heaven. Jesus says only "I am the Way the Truth and the Life...NO ONE comes to the Father except by Me" Nope, Allah won't get you there, Scientology won't get you there, Latter Day Saints won't do it, nor will Mary or a hand full of crystals or even Buddha. Satan likes you right where you are if you fall into that group above. Because these false gods divert your worship from the only god that can save your soul and they deserve no prayer or worship. And how can you live any of the 23 truths above if you don't know who to devote them to? You were created by God to worship him only, not an idol or false religion. Or maybe you are your own "god" and call all the shots in your life and have no time for or need no one, not even Him. Now is your opportunity and it didn't happen by chance. He loves you and wants you in His kingdom. However, He cannot allow any sin into Heaven. And you can't clean yourself off or work your way there. That's why Jesus shed His blood and received punishment that should have been directed at me & you. Yes, He died for us and our hope is that He did come back to life on the third day. His blood WILL wash you clean. Clean for heaven. All you need to do, with all your sincerity, is acknowledge your sin and your need to be saved from Hell & Satan. Then as Christ said on the cross "It is finished". Then Live for God, join a good bible teaching church and let Him change your life. Jesus Christ is THE one true god. Jesus said, " I am the Alpha and the Omega I am the beginning and the end". Yes friend, He has always been here. |
